At Fredheim, we follow the NEWSTART principles. Here is a short explanation of how they are applied:
- Nutrition: We must feed our body the best foods and, at the same time, enjoy that food. It is true, we really are what we eat...
- Exercise: We need to keep our body healthy and strong so that we can enjoy life. Therefore we strongly encourage our guests to get plenty of exercise each day, out in the fresh air if possible.
- Water: Hydrotherapy is one of the most effective natural remedies you can find. It is important to use lots of water both internally and externally. We would never take a shower in Coca-Cola - why would we wash our internal organs with it?
- Sunshine: Pull back the curtains and let the sun shine in! It makes your day lighter and your health better.
- Temperance: We encourage you to a healthful, moderate use of the good things and to stay away from those things which are unhealthy or dangerous. A balanced life includes work, play and rest.
- Air: Get fresh air daily and often. Take walks outside and fill your lungs with fresh air.
- Rest: Nothing compares to a good nights rest. There is a time to work and a time to rest. To go to bed early in the night is one of the best things we can do for our bodies - they will thank us for years to come.
- Trust: Love, faith, trust and hope builds up health. Find the peace that lasts.
